There was once a quiet farmer  who moved from the brown earth to the land of cemented pavement.

Although he moved from the land of quiet, rich soil to the land of hustle and bustle the peace and quiet temper never left the man.

He may have stopped growing beets, beans, and potatoes, tending cows, sheep, chickens and brood sows, but he didn’t stop growing a family, tending and loving three girls and four boys.

Missing one brother.

In that quiet work he did as daddy there grew seven children with a great love for ice cream, memories of being tackled by daddy in after work games, an example of a hard worker, and lots of laughter from his sense of humor.

Mann trait
Thanks for the laughter, the memories and especially for growing and tending your children, one of which became my husband, who embodies many of your characteristics.

We love you, dad.  We’re going to miss you. You finally get to be with Mom again.
